Welcome to the Dunwoody Green Market CSA
DunwoodyGreenMarket is different from most of the others in the Metro Atlanta area in several ways.
• We do not require payment for the whole season in advance. Payments must be made one month in advance. Full season payment is an option if that is more convenient for you. Simply multiply the number of weeks you plan to participate by the share size that fits your circumstances.
• We are a cooperative CSA. This means that between the two primary farmers that supply the produce we can offer a more diverse share of in-season fruits and vegetables each week. Should circumstances require, we have a secondary tier of farmers to help provide a well rounded share each week.
• Our produce is Certified Naturally Grown (the grassroots alternative to Certified USDA Organic) to assure you that you will receive a supply of fresh, pesticide free clean produce for you and your family.
• We allow you to supply us with black out dates if you know you will be traveling.
• We appreciate your support and strive to make sure that you receive the best and the first of what the season offers.
Why Is Community Supported Agriculture Important?
• CSA direct marketing gives farmers and growers the fairest return on their products.
• CSA keeps food dollars in the local community and contributes to the maintenance and establishment of regional food production.
• With a “guaranteed market” for their produce, farmers can invest their time growing great produce, rather than looking for buyers.
• CSA supports the biodiversity of a given area and the diversity of agriculture through the preservation of small farms producing a wide variety of crops.
• CSA creates opportunity for dialogue between farmers and consumers.
• CSA creates a sense of social responsibility and stewardship of local land.
• CSA puts “the farmers face on food” and increases understanding of how, where, and by whom your food is grown.
